The Fuel is the Origin server architecture reduced to one processor and put on a desk. It carries the memory system and the Odyssey graphics of far larger machines without their cost, which made it the last SGI workstation a small studio could reasonably buy. It also marks the end of the line: by this point the commodity graphics card had caught up, and the argument for a proprietary workstation was running out.
